Sri Lankan filmmaker, Duminda Sanjeewa’s film Withered Leaf completed 10 years this year and critics revisited the milestone to analyse what was so special about the film. Somebody sent me the link of the film and I must say I enjoyed watching the film. It is a simple story of a poor woman living in a remote village. One day, her husband dies and survival is difficult. She tries her best to feed two meals to her infant son but when she cannot, she jumps into the well but before that prepares her baby that he will have to live with the neighbour aunt who has no children and craves to be a mother.
