Hema is an apsara in Lord Indra‘s court. As per the fable when Yaksha Mayasura was Hema, it was love at first sight and he immediately married her. Hema was an apsara but in love with Mayasura now. They had two sons, Mayavi and Dundubhi, and a daughternamed Mandodari.
Hema lived with the family for a few years and then left her children in care of her husband and She later left them and returned to Svarga.
