Gone are the days when film stars were treated as deities. In recent times we have been exposed to a sandalwood star allegedly embroiled in a gruesome murder of his fan. That the star and his partner are currently in the lockup proves that no one is above law.
Last week superstar politician Thalpathy Vijay was invited as chief guest for an Education Award Ceremony held in Chennai. The event involved the star politician to honour the achiever students and one of the video that has gone viral portrays a young girl trying to get the politician’s arm off her shoulder. Unfortunately, the video is incomplete and does not tell the complete story but something tells me that this is the beginning of a storm to come. More and more people are coming forward to express injustice. This is a new India.

To be a sports man and be in the public all the time is not easy. So many things happen in their private lives but they have to always push back their personal woes and perform on the playground. I remember the time Sachin Tendulkar was on the field and he lost his father. He took a break, visited his mother and returned to complete the test match. The last few days have not been easy for former India speedy bowler Irfan Pathan. Post India’s victory, Pathan broke down and publicly mourned the loss of his hairstylist Faiyaz Ansari.
Last but not the least, Surya kumar and his wife were consumed with happiness and slept with the medal in between them and woke up next morning smiling at the medal and at each other.
It has been a nerve wracking week in more ways than one. The entire world watched as Donald Trump and US President Joe Biden debated for elections. Biden while addressing a rally post his debate said, “ I’m not a young man anymore, I don’t walk as easy is I used to and I don’t debate as effectively but I know how to tell the trut and when you get knocked, you get down and get back” he concluded.
I don’t know why but I have a feeling that maybe s new, unexpected candidate will emerge out of the blue and steal the thunder from the old guards.

I remember watching Sachin Tendulkar’s documentary where he reveals his process of preparing for a match. Tendulkar elaborated that he personally packed his cricket bag, placed his uniform, polished his his shoes and cleaned his bat/ ball while Bappi Lahiri music played in the background.
Post the win Rohit Sharma confessed that after leading India to win T20 World Cup 2024 he could not sleep all night before the finals because he was anxious to win.
The way the game progressed it appeared as if our defeat was a forgone conclusion “But the final match was a perfect ›example of what is required when the back is against the wall” said Sharma. I feel what finally worked for our champions is the killer instinct, the desire to win and and their conviction that they do it!

What a match and what a victory! There were celebrations all the way, crackers, whistles, drums, people on the streets, dancing, drinking, celebrating till wee hours of the morning.
Suryakumar’s boundary line catch in the last over is an immortal moment that dismissed South Africa’s David Miller and declared India’s win T20 World Cup 2024 final. Cricket buffs have watched the replay again and again. The way Suryakumar sprinted from wide long-off, grabbed the catch and then threw the ball is a visual that will linger in our memory forever…
A jubilant Virendra Sehwag commented that
two unbelievable things happened in Barbados T20 World Cup 2024 Final. Surya’s catch and Rahul Dravid laid his hands on the trophy as coach. Sehwag was not the only one getting emotional, the entire team was overwhelmed
